AIM 2014

Has anyone scheduled their flight yet? If so where are you landing?

Im a little confused. I know that I'll be flying at least way. On the travel sheet, it discusses transportation to the academy and mentions something about requesting it. Do we have to specifically request a shuttle to the academy? I was under the impression that the academy will automatically have shuttles for those flying.

They will have shuttles, but you have to request one because they need to know to expect you. It all comes down to logistics and Admissions needing to plan that they need x number of shuttles for x number of participants. They also need your name, otherwise anyone could just hop on for the free ride to wonder Downtown NewLo.

Hey guys! I was wondering if you all would be interested in joining a Facebook group for AIM 2014! We could get to know each other and stuff. What do you think? I could make one if you guys want to join.

Go ahead!

Here is the link! Or search under USCGA AIM 2014

https://www.facebook.com/groups/310243389130832/

And this will be the first facebook group for the class of 2019. You want to talk about feeling old.

Just wait, you'll remember this day when four years from now and you're firsties and there's drama on your class council page and you'll be like

"Remember when we first made a facebook page? For AIM?"

Time blows by quickly.

Hello all. AIM is getting closer and closer! I am having trouble paying for my session... Has anyone completed this part and if so could you please instruct me on how to?

There is a link in the acceptance letter to enter payment info.

It's one of the first items on the to do list included in the letter.

Do the cadre evaluate the candidates while they're at AIM? An admissions recruiter hinted at me that I should be on my top performance in case of a possible evaluation towards my USCGA application. Is this true?

My son's experience last year was YES, absolutely you are evaluated by the Cadre.

FYI for those candidates that did not get into the AIM program. Do not get discouraged about utimately getting into the CGA. DS did not get selected last year for AIM but ultimately received a 2018 appointment (off waitlist). Keep pushing forward and best wishes.

I registered for session 2 a while ago, but now I am trying to pay and I can't seem to find it. I have checked all the emails they sent me and looked under the 'my events' section like they said but it's still not coming up... Is anyone else having this problem?

Go to the very first email. Log on to your application account from there. Then on the letter with your acceptance click on the very first step there is a hyperlink on it. This will tell you to confirm your spot click yes then it will take you to the payment page. I had the same problem yesterday but had some help figuring it out. Hope this helps!

I never read the acceptance letter once I knew I was in... I just found the link to pay, thank you!

On the medical info sheet, all we need is the four papers filled out right? I got my clearance and doctor signature on the very last form. Just wanted to make sure those are the only papers needed. Thanks!
