no filled up in 1 hour. you can see eager the kids want in-person! the email went to my spam so i missed the 1-hour window. can they just change the first session to in-person as well?

Yeah, same for my son. Both sessions completely filled in an hour. Why bother asking what session you want on the application. They must have known what applicants wanted.
 
I imagine they'll want to keep one session virtual. My DD attended last year and it was still valuable even if it wasn't all it could be. Lots of people can't travel due to schedule conflicts or responsibilities, some can't afford it, and the academy can handle many more faces with the same staff. You get exposure to the culture, they can a look at potential candidates, you can get your interview done, and they do end up running through a good amount of material. Half a loaf is better than just looking at the web site again, so grab it and go. Semper Gumby.

I don't think it's too likely. Alot of people are very eager to go there. Any chance for people to drop is the lack of fund from family, forgetting to pay the funs by June 15th,not filling out all the information that is needed, having not time anymore, or etc. Also, there are many people that are currently waitlisted right now, so you gotta hope you're in the front of that line. I wish you will for getting a spot!
