So I was told the application for the AIM program would open up today. Any ideas as to why it's not available?

I was just about to make another comment on my last thread about the AIM program, but you beat me to it! Someone commented (USCGA Admissions person I think) and said that it would be open today. I checked this morning and about a minute ago and it wasn't yet. Hopefully it will open tomorrow but if not, I want it to be by this weekend. I will comment again if I find anything out. Thanks!

Ladies and Gents,

We've had a massive snowstorm out here on our half of the world and base was closed from 0458 on Friday until last night around 2200. Nobody was allowed to come on base even if they could make it here. Today was a liberal leave policy for those who couldn't get in due to unsafe weather conditions.

That being said, it might explain why its taking a bit longer than normal to get everything online. Be patient, the cadre will still be there in July to yell at you :p

Thank you so much! We're hoping the cadre will be there :D Hope everything is alright over there

I knew all of that was going on in the back of my mind. But all of that didn't register when I started asking myself why the application wasn't online. I promise I'm not as ignorant as I seem. Stay safe and thanks for the response!

Yes, apparently they have been busy there. According to The New London Day 2/13/13...

The Day Article

Hey DanGir,

That comment hit below the belt!!!This is an old issue that was dealt with during the summer of 2012. No cadets involved.

Just trying to lighten the mood on the AIM application thread. Sorry if it hit below the belt. The article was in today's edition of The Day.

The AIM application is now available...the deadline has been extended to April 15th due to the delayed opening.

AIM App challenges.

Not sure to whom, or where, to send App completion questions, but:

---Asks for Transcript and College Test Scores. High School does not include Test Scores on Transcript. Tried to download both Doc's, but only takes one. Put the numbers in the blocks down below on the same page. Thoughts?
---I have only the most recent 'Unofficial Transcript' from GC, good enough?
---Asked for the GC's Recommendation info to be included. Was that uploaded by the CGA and automatically sent to GC now, or when App is done?

Thank you...........

Upon further reading I have my

answer to question 3. The uploading of the Rec Form is automatic. Any help on Q's 1 and 2 is appreciated.

Only one upload is allowed within the Educational Information section, so you would need to combine your high school transcript and ACT/SAT score reports into a single document or you can just record your highest test scores in the appropriate space. Personal Statement #3 allows you to upload anything you want, so that's another option to include your score reports.

We consider anything self-reported, not coming directly from the guidance counselor, as unofficial, so any transcript you upload will be fine.

A recommendation request is sent as soon as you enter the recommender's contact information, so they can begin working on their letter of recommendation while you're working on your application and personal statements. This is why we recommend you list your recommenders first and not wait until you're finished with your application to request your recommendations.
