The application says AIM essays should be limited to one page. Is that double spaced?

The guidance for AIM essays that they should be around 500 words, so it doesn't matter if you use double space or not. It is the word count that is important.

Hi, parent here emailing to clarify this: Was the AIM requirement on essays for "one page" or for "500 words"? Hoping that if a student or counselor happens to be online right now they can flag. I'll need to ask my DC after school today which guidance they used! Thanks.

I believe these were the same instructions for USCGA applications. I regarded both of them, so my essays were one page each and only up to 500 words. This means experimenting with fonts, spacing, and font sizing to get 500 words to fit on one page!

I did not double space mine ( I didn't apply to AIM, I am just referring to my application to CGA). I called admissions asking about formatting instructions, and I do not think it matters as long as the essays are one page each and no longer than 500 words. I also recall the question asking to put the question and the question number in the essay. I did this as a header.

Hopefully this is helpful!

Yes, thanks! DC told me that the requirement was "less than a page," but I think each essay ended up about 60o words. Hopefully it can be edited and re-submitted in ... (checks watch) .... the next 12 hours.
