Hello! I just had a couple of questions regarding packing...
1. If I were to bring items such as a hand roller and biofreeze for sore muscles would that be confiscated or is it okay to pack with me?
2. What type of bag should I be using? Currently I have packed in a camping backpack without the back frame that can also be converted into a duffel bag, I am slightly worried that I am packing too much because my bag is stuffed and honestly quite large.
Thanks for the help!

1. Those items won't be confiscated, however, I think you should ask yourself if you really need them or can you handle the soreness for a week? As an aside, you probably won't have the time you think you might to use such items, as AIM is very fast-paced. I can tell you the swabs aren't using them right now (unless they are enrolled in PT for some kind of injury).

2. The bag you describe sounds just find, and mirrors what Aimsters have brought in the past. If you're concerned with how much you've packed, look over the packing list again. If you have items packed that are not on the list, reevaluate whether they're actually needed (probably not if it's not on the list). I can tell you I brought just what was on the list and was fine. If you wanted to bring more, I'd suggest an extra towel or a couple of extra shirts/compression shorts. For toiletries, focus on the basics you actually need and bring a bottle of 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 shampoo to save space.

If you can't make it through 6 days of AIM without a roller and biofreeze, what makes you think you can make it through swab summer where you will most definitely not be allowed to have either?

My daughter is at swab summer and she most definitely has bio freeze and a roller. They are allowed.

Bio freezer and a roller are not on the packing list - you are only supposed to bring what is on the packing list. Over the counter meds, like biofreeze, are confiscated. My firstie was swab summer cadre last summer, and it is the same as it ever was. Your daughter may have taken it with her, but it doesn't mean she was allowed to keep it. PM me her name and we can confer with her cadre directly to clear this all up.

Agree, only pack what is on the list.

Your bag sounds excellent. My DD also used a big duffel that can also be used as a backpack. Are you still overpacking? She came back with lots more - tshirts, bag, shorts etc so consider having just a wee bit of room to seriously overstuff on the way back.

From the cadet handbook regarding packing- "All prescribed and over the counter medications, or dietary supplements, you require, including prescription documentation. Note: You may bring non-prescription medications such as Tylenol, as long as the medication does not contain alcohol or ingredients that may make you drowsy. Do not bring stimulants such as No-Doz or other “energy enhancing” supplements."

She was able to pack it and has been using it per her letters home, just like several other cadets. It was not confiscated. No need to PM you her name so you can "confer with cadre", as she is doing great per her letters home and other notifications!
