AIM

Place me in a coma please

Good morning everyone. Our daughter is off to AIM and its only been a day but we are already missing her. No phone calls for a week. I know that she is being watched over and in good hands. This is great what the heck I'm I going to do if she gets in. Is there a Dr. in the house to induce me into a coma. (LOL) Just think she's the eldest of 4. I gotta go through is 3 more times. I think it should get easier.
I would like to thank everyone for this forum its has been a wealth of information in a tough process and she has just started.:bang:

My son got back from AIM on Saturday. He loved it! He said the first two days were tough because they got yelled at alot, but he said it was much more realistic as to how the summer would be, than NASS where he called home every night and they did one "mock" I-day, I think. He said the PT wasn't bad at all and the food was good! He liked the size of the campus and the sub base across the river. It was hard not hearing from him all week, especially when we got the email about the H1N1, but he came home feeling fine and talking about the sailing team. Anybody on here know how hard it is to make the team? Thanks!

fairwinds--what company was your son in? I attended session 2 as well! I asked my waterfront cadre how hard it was to get on the sailing team. He said that most of their crew was walk on; If he wanted to be a skipper it's going to be a lot harder. Sailing was amazing! I plan on trying out for the team if I get accepted into the Academy...

My daughter was at session 2 and had a blast. She was in bravo and said she also wanted to join the sailing team...

My son is now a Midshipman at USNA and he was my first to send off to the academy. The no phone calls are the hardest but once you get through it then its not so bad. He is a youngster this year and I hear from him a couple of times a week. We are now working on our daughters applications to the academies she loves it and truly wants to be an officer. Hang in there the CG takes really good care of them.

Good luck!
