Hi,
I want to apply to air force academy but i don't know when or how to start.
I already contacted my ALO but he only told me to follow the steps in the USAFA website.
I am barely starting my junior year and would like to start early so I can have a better shot to get in.
What should I do first?
When to do them?
How and when to get nominations?
How and when do I do the pre-candidate questioner?
What's first the application or the pre-candidate questioner?

Thank you.

Check out the website now as there is a lot to learn. That being said, you won't really be able to start your actual application until spring of your junior year in high school.

Correct - the SAs are 100% focused on Class of 2022 admissions from now until April 2018. But you can register for a 'pre-apply' contact so you get on the email lists for future admissions seminars etc in your area.

Use the extra year you have to build up your GPA and SAT scores; start working out daily and seek opportunities in athletics etc. if you don't have those boxes checked already. You ARE eligible for the SA Summer Leadership programs [June of 2018] as a Class of 2023 candidate so be sure to check that process out for deadlines etc.

I would suggest that you read and try to find as much information as possible before you start asking for help. Showing initiative is an important skill for a military officer. From your questions, it seems that you did very little if any research on your own. The application process is long and difficult and will take a great deal of individual commitment.

I understand that you may be very young, but take this as a valuable lesson of the process. You can start your SLE application right around the first of the year.

Agree with the others: Begin with the USAFA website, and read it thoroughly.
Here is a link to the Admissions timeline to help you get started: https://www.academyadmissions.com/admissions/the-application-process/admissions-cycle/

Then read the "sticky's" at the top of this forum and learn and understand the process.

Learn to search the forum to answer questions that you might have and if you cannot find the answer, post it here.
Learn to use Google to research USAFA on your own. The ability to find answers independently is essential.

Make a plan B and research AFROTC as a back up plan.

Keep an open mind for the other service academies and service branches.
