Looking for suggestions for finding an airbnb or vrbo in Annapolis for plebe parent's weekend. Has anyone stayed in one before that they would recommend?

I would say, that most airbnbs are great. Make sure and read reviews, and check cancellation policies. It’s a personal choice as far as your needs so it’s hard to ‘suggest one’.

We stayed in Cape St Claire and really enjoy that location. My experience, is that plebes appreciate ‘gettting away’ from the Yard to let down and relax. But, yours may also be anxious about any commute at all (we have never had issues. Allowed driving time). Both of my guys enjoyed being far enough away to not worry about their detailers seeing them (which can happen DTA).

It is a personal preference. And depends on if you have a car.

We stayed about 10-15 minutes from the Yard across the bridge. It was perfect for us. We needed a decent size house because we had family driving up from WV. The house we stayed at also had a pool which was so nice to have in Aug. The owner was great to work with and booked directly through her, so we didn’t have to pay all the fees.

Look at Kent Island (a cross the bay bridge) or looks south of Annapolis (Chesapeake Beach is an option)

These are very personal choices, depending on each family’s needs. Keep in mind proximity. The farther you are, the more peaceful and restful it can be. But also the more time-consuming and stressful it can be to return on time each day.

We found the “sweet spot” in a secluded neighborhood just a 15-minute drive from the Yard. Almost no chance of running into a detailer. And we’d head to DTA a couple hours early to avoid any mad rush.

I just booked for 2024 commissioning and did it via midsrents.com. Great price, location, communication. Actually the owners offered to show it to me this week since I’m out here in DTA.

I would check out the Facebook group called USNA Families Annapolis Rentals - this is what I use when we rent our home. You can post on there what you are looking for and get lots of options and dont have to pay all the fees that are associated with Air BnB and VRBO. Midsrents.com is great but mainly for commissioning week but some on there also rent at other times.
