hi guys, my cousin wants to join the airforce reserves. He is concerned he has really bad credit as they do credit check. Does anyone know at what point during the enlistment process do they run his credit report? During MEPS or at the recruiter level? Thanks

Generally after MEPS. At MEPS, will take AVSAB if not already taken and get a physical. After this it's background check/credit check. He should get his credit problems taken care of before MEPS, however. Having anything in collections is a show stopper. Exceeding the proscribed debt/income ratios also is a show stopper.
