Soaring and Parachuting is offered at USAFA as summer training. Many cadets will be offered Soaring, but do they only have their first summer to do Jump training or do they have opportunities their second and third summer?

There is one more chance during your firstie year to jump during the school year. The first summer is the only summer opportunity though.

If you do not get the opportunity to do soaring or jump over your first summer, a select few will get to do soaring during the year and jump is offered to firsties.

My C1C was an IC and not authorized by his coaches to participate in Jump until he had finished competing this fall. He is taking it now.

I'm taking UAS this semester during the school year.
I am also taking Soaring this summer; I want to try to be a Soaring or UAS IP.
When I am a senior I want to take Jump and Powered Flight.

Our son had Soaring after his Doolie year, and then was able to do both Jump and Powered Flight as a Firstie. It did take some planning on his part, though. He had some semesters with 20 and 21 credits during his 2 and 3 degree years to make room in his schedule as a senior.
