Thank you. All great advice. DS will be attending the prep school and we are planning for R-Day. We haven’t traveled to the area before. You’ve made some great points.Boy is that a LOADED question.I would think it depends on where you are coming from. Stewart International in Newburgh is the closest and easiest to transit IMHO, but Newark, and LaGuardia offer far more flight options and time slots. But both Newark and LaGuardia require careful planning NOT to fly in during peak traffic hours or you WILL sit in traffic. If it is a family trip then check Hotwire, Travelocity, and Expedia (if you are not a frequent flyer) and find the best deal that works for you. The difference is Stewart is 20-25 minutes away from the Post, Newark is 90 minutes in light traffic and LaGuardia is maybe a little less. Again JMHO, but be careful regarding arrival time if flying into the Metro area, try and arrive during "off peak" traffic times, or on a weekend.
Thank you. This is the type of info I need.1. Stewart
2. Newark - with the impediments discussed above.
3. LaGuardia is a nightmare while the construction is ongoing and worse if you rent a car.
Agree. Avoid LaGuardia like the plague until construction is finished, which may be after your DS graduates....1. Stewart

Good to know about Westchester. Thanks!Definitely remove LaGuardia from your list and add Westchester County Airport (around White Plains, NY).
If I remember correctly, less than 1 hour drive to USMA - no traffic (comparably).
Might want to reconsider Westchester at this point as almost the entire county is being quarantined. I would hate for you to book a flight in and then not be able to get there. However a lot can happen in 3 months so who knows.Good to know about Westchester. Thanks!
Thanks. Another good option. You can also fly into Albany. About the same travel time as flying into one of the larger airports in the City, but the opposite direction so no traffic (more predictable).
