Hey y'all!
I have a slight issue with AJROTC. I would join one, I know that it could help me see what a military life is like. The issue is my high school doesn't have one. Is it possible to join another HS? Or am I just out of luck?
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it has to be at your high school.

There are some various cadet programs that aren't set with specific high schools. For instance, Civil Air Patrol (3 and a half year member here), Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, Young Marines, etc.

They may be different branches, but I still think they're excellent programs.

I don't know, I was talking to someone who does JROTC at a nearby high school. i think it depends on your school districts rules on that. I'd talk to a JROTC unit nearby and see what they have to say if I were you.

Listen to Ken though, there are a lot of other programs you can get involved in.

For Senior ROTC, it encompasses many schools, as colleges usually have cross-enrollment programs between nearby schools. It's also alot more likely, as college schedules are more flexible in terms of time and scheduling. Most of my Army ROTC Battalion consists of cadets from other schools actually. Only about 1/4 are from our host school.

The main reason I've always assumed no is because JROTC is usually set in a specific school's curriculum. Also, I would think it would be more difficult to travel back and forth, considering that high school class days are much tighter with the 7:00-2:00 schedule.

Do you have a school with JROTC very close by? If so, maybe you could set something up. But again, I still think it would be very unlikely considering my above thoughts.

No, the school is about thirty minutes away. Shoot, thanks anyway.
