Since all of us are only a few days away from our R-Day's and I-Days, I thought it'd be good to have a thread to talk about pre-bootcamp jitters, issues of concern, and things that we're looking forward to!

The Coast Guard's R-Day is the 28th. When is your guys?

Tap Water

PVT: "Excuse me, Drill Sergeant?"

DS: "What is it?"

PVT: "Drill Sergeant, I cannot drink the tapwater."

DS: "Why not?"

PVT: "The impurities make me ill, Drill Sergeant."

DS: "Ill?"

PVT: "Yes, Drill Sergeant. I can only drink bottled water."

The Drill Sergeant paused a beat, unbelieving. Then he gestured at a nearby private.

DS: "Private XXX, go and help Private Tapwater fill up his canteen, and make sure that he drinks it. There's nothing wrong with that water!"

For the rest of the Basic Training, he was known as Private Tapwater. The other screwups like me were so glad to have him there, it saved us a lot of 'personal attention' from the Drill Sergeants. Thank you again, Pvt. Tapwater!

West Point"s is on the 28th too. Gahh, nearly into the single-digits away! It's the strangest mixture of :smile::frown::eek::thumb:
 
My friend is going enlisted into the Marines. Heads out the day after graduation (June 27th).
 
My brothers roommate at TBS filled his camelback with only Figi bottled water.
 
My school's apbio class did a study of our area's tap water and a couple brands of bottles water. The tap water was better purified, actually.
 
I'm USMA Class of 2014. Our R-day is the 28th of June. Getting pretty excited, but nervous too!

That must've gotten expensive after awhile. :shake:

So AFA's I-Day is the 24th, CGA and USMA's is the 28th, and USNA and KP are...?


How are you guys feeling about this summer?
 
I think USNA starts the 1rst of July. I may be wrong about this though.
 
Yeah I-day is July 1st for USNA. EVERYBODY who knows I'm leaving soon always asks if I'm excited and if I'm nervous. It's like those are the only two adjectives in the dictionary!
