allowed watches for AIM

The only thing not allowed is a smart watch.

Spoiler: the cadre will probably ban anyone from wearing a watch at some point in the summer. Usually it’s a punishment for moving too slowly and failing to make time objectives. “Clearly you all aren’t using the watches on your wrists, because if you were, you’d have been out here on time. So because no one is using their watches, you all have to take them off and leave them in your rooms.”

My kid wore a Timex Ironman digital. Also worked as an alarm to get up.
DS1 somehow managed to get himself awake when the cadre hit the first room (his was probably 3rd or 4th for his company). By the 3rd morning he had the whole room up and ready by the time the cadre got to their room. Cadre were definitely not expecting that.

How many people are normally in a room? Thanks for the advice!

This is directly from my partner who's an AIM cadre- they will be taking y'alls watches. You won't have access to them through the week. I know the packing list won't tell you that, but yeah. As for rooming, I just looked through all the rooming assignments, every AIMster will be in a double, so you'll only have one roomate.
A moment of silence for the summer schoolers, pretty much all of Chase is locked down now that AIM SSTP and CGAS are all starting up...

What do you mean by a moment of silence for the summer schoolers and all of Chase hall is locked down?

Really good answer!

I think @Cessna172N just means that when the swabs and AIMsters are in Chase Hall, any cadets that are on campus that are not in a cadre roll are supposed to avoid those areas of Chase Hall. It just makes it a bit more difficult for cadets in summer school to move around freely.

To confirm yes

To confirm, yes this is what I meant. ESPECIALLY this coming week now that CGAS/NAPS is starting. Fortunately I'm not in Chase Hall right now, I'm at a small boat station, but hearing stories from my friends back in Chase it seems pretty rough haha.

On the plus side for all of y'all trainees, you can trust that the Academy is being tailored for your experience about as well as it can be. Summer schoolers won't be in your way (I hope).

Is summer school only offered for 3C’s? Can other years do it?

Summer school is only offered for 3/c's. It's just a way to catch up on classes otherwise not taken (or make them up if you failed them) that are necessary for the rest of your major. Since 4/c year is mostly gened and foundational courses, you need to be at a certain point by the end of it. The most common reason for summer school is if a STEM major hasn't passed Calc 2, then they'll do summer school.

Should you fail a class after 4/c year, there won't be any summer school, you'll just have to retake it during the regular year.
