ALO evaluation...

How long does it "usually" take for an ALO to submit his evaluation? My DD had her interview a month ago and a follow up phone call 2 weeks ago and her portal says that his evaluation is still lacking. Does it take the academy some time to process it before it show as being complete? Or does she need to contact her ALO? Or is this a normal time frame? The rest of her application has been complete for a few weeks now. Thanks for any help.

Fortunately, there are some things the academy has a hard deadline for. The alo evaluation is one of them. Meaning, the academy gives the alo a "no later than" date to submit it. And even if the alo requests more time, it's not held against the applicant. It's basically the one thing in your entire application you don't have to worry about. Unless of course you haven't been called and evaluate by your alo. Then you should be contacting them or admissions.

But if you've been evaluated, don't worry about it. The academy will be on your ALO's butt to make sure it's submitted on time. And if it takes the academy a while to process it, then again, not your worry. It's not like you're going to get to see the score or evaluation anyway. You'll just know it's submitted. Don't worry about this one.

Thanks for the info, Christcorp....that is exactly what I needed to know. Have a great day.

I would add one caveat. If the time comes when all your Mocs interviews are done, and you've received a nomination, and that's in your online portal...... But for some reason you see something missing, such as the alo interview, then definitely call admissions at that time. They may have received it from the alo, but didn't post it online.

I had my interview back in mid August and it still hasn't been submitted lol. In the interview he told me to not rush him because he knows the deadlines, so I'm trusting he is making a flawless report that makes me sound like an amazing candidate. Or maybe he just forgot.
But yeah I hope USAFA is giving him a few reminders because my application has been considered incomplete for the past 2.5 months just because of the interview. I got fed up with it and politely contacted him about it last Saturday and he said he would get it done sometime this week. Now it is Sunday and it's still missing. Makes me wanna flip a table haha

The ball is in the ALO's court so let it play out. The admissions office will pimp the ALO to get it done if the deadline has past, so don't contact your ALO. The ALO can also request an extension for various reasons. Remember, you are not the only candidate that the ALO has to interview and write up. Almost every ALO has a full time civilian job and volunteers on a part time basis. Don't be a tool by contacting your ALO! Don't worry; let people do their job. The Air Force has enough micromanagers and there's no need to get a head start in becoming one so early on. Remember, good things come to those who wait.

ALO's for the most part (vast majority) are very good at making deadlines. Okay, we might make it precisely on time...but we get it done! Just think...while you're anxiously awaiting the ALO to write your 4060 (that's the ALO evaluation)...he/she might be working on 1,2, 14 more!

See what CC said above...it's on point.

Well, I guess my DD's ALO is an angel, because he was told by admissions that her interview deadline was moved up and due within 10 days. He interviewed her within the week and entered it into the system and her app was completed the next day. We are very grateful for his efforts.

ALO interview deadlines change based on how much of your application you have finished. Initially, if you look qualified, the ALO interview and deadline is around February. When you complete enough of your application, the date is moved up, and the ALO usually has about 30 days to finish it. I've been fortunate. During my first meetings with any of my candidates, immediately after being assigned them, I let them know how important it is to get their application done immediately, so all they have to worry about is their nomination. Then, they can spend the rest of their time applying other colleges too, and ENJOYING their senior year. I've never done an ALO interview PAST 1 September.

DS completed his ALO interview over 2 weeks ago. November 2 was his deadline to submit all docs. Now the portal says his application is incomplete and will not be reviewed, and that he should make contact with his ALO to remind him about the interview not making the deadline. DS tried all summer to arrange the ALO interview but ALO refused... insisting that interview is conducted according to his timetable. I'm sure he knows what he is doing, but this is a far cry from the Navy BGO who wanted to meet DS early in order to help guide him through the application and MOC interview process. Navy BGO even came to the house and wanted to meet the entire family; instead ALO insisted on interview being conducted behind closed doors in private with DS.
