Hey everyone,
I have my interview tomorrow on zoom tomorrow and I have no idea what to wear. I was thinking that I should just wear a button up shirt and a tie, however I am not sure what the ALO is looking for in dress etiquette.

I wore a nice button with a tie and dress pants. Dress professional for the best first impressions. Remember not to stress over it. If you want to go to the academy, you should already have all the answers that you will need. Relax and be confident the harder interview is the one for the MOC nominations.

I think it's always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed.
I am a female and I wore a pantsuit to my ALO interview so I think for males a button up and tie would be appropriate. Even though you may be Zooming, I would highly recommend you still wear appropriate bottoms because you never know if you will be faced with a situation in which you have to stand up. (Most people do this already, but maybe just a good reminder.)

Good luck and try to be relaxed, confident, and yourself!

button-down shirt and tie should be fine, anything that you would consider being formal enough to a job interview as that's practically what this is.

If you have a suit I would wear that, of course you might not have a suit so I would recommend a good button-up shirt and nice tie that you have at your disposal (and pants too).

Best of luck to you!

My advice would be to dress as well as you can given your financial situation. If you have a suit, wear a suit. If you don't, I wouldn't go out and buy one. I wouldn't stress to much over it too much. Best of luck!

DS wore slacks, button-up shirt, tie and sport coat for ALO, but just wore a nice button up shirt, tie, new jeans and his fav leather jacket (which he wound up taking off because it was too hot) for BGO. We live out West so dress-up is more casual than back East. Worked out really well though, as the ALO was from DC and the BGO was located in our state. Sort of by accident, DS's clothing choices matched the interviewer's expectations! I agree with makeyourbed, try not to over think it, dress nicely and relax. of course, both interviews were on Zoom.
