I did an interview last weekend. I'll probably have it submitted by the end of next week. So that's about 2 weeks. Each ALO; each applicant; and each situation is unique. in my area, it's small. We sort of know many of our applicants. Even personally. But there can be some that we don't know anything about. Most ALO's like to know that what the applicant tells them in an interview or on a resume, etc... is always the truth. Not saying that an applicant is going to lie; but if s/he tells me that are successful state/national athlete, class officer, or some other extraordinary accomplishment; I want to use that in my evaluation. I want to give my applicants every edge possible if I think they deserve it. But sometimes it takes a little time to very some things.
It also takes a lot of time to travel and visit these applicants to get their interviews done. On top of that; most people keep forgetting that for the majority of ALO's, this is NOT OUR FULL TIME JOB!!! We don't get paid for this. We have "Real" jobs to pay our bills. We can't give 100% 24/7 undivided attention. So it takes a couple weeks.
FWIW: ALO's have "Deadlines" from admissions on when the evaluation must be completed. So most times, an ALO isn't going to be past that. It might take more weeks after they submit it for admissions to show it completed online, but the ALO has a suspense that they have to meet.
