I'm in ROTC in my third year of school, planning to graduate in May 2018. I'm currently at a crossroads with my unit for numerous reasons that I don't feel like getting into, and I'm having thoughts of leaving my unit. Right now, I would be equally satisfied with either being a military officer in the future or finding a career in the civilian sector. Honestly, the only conflict that I'm having with leaving the program is the debt that I would accrue after being dismissed. However I've been told that I can repay the debt through financial means or government service.
So this leads me to my central question: What other ways are out there for repaying the debt through government service?
I still plan on finishing my degree, so could I enlist and go straight to OCS (then hopefully flight school) after boot? Could I serve as a government contractor (or in some other government agency) to repay the debt?
I feel like I'm stuck on a singletrack when I know there's gotta be other options out there. "If you don't know your options, you don't have any"
Thanks in advance
