Shuttle Run: 9
Sit Ups: 95
Push Ups: 61
Mile: 7:24

Thank you for reading all of this :)

I know just as much about the admissions process as you do, but I’d suggest working on your mile time and basketball throw (it’s technique)

Overall strong package.
Academics are solid
Extracurricular are solid (assuming you have a narrative about your leadership experiences)
Fitness is solid (basketball is low, but that is technique and everything else seems solid)

No guarantees, but this looks solid on paper and above average in my opinion.

I'm an applicant myself, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. You are obviously a bright and well rounded person. Overall, very impressive record. Though I've come to find so are many other applicants. I think your CFA is fine, and I wouldn't sweat the basketball throw (I'm an all state/county multi-sport athlete, but still found that event super-challenging), but your mile time seemed kinda high especially for a swimmer. Still, my bet is you passed. Your ACT score is excellent overall, but your math is just average for USAFA (I had a 36 on English and my ALO still said I should try to bring my 30 math up). I definitely respect swimmers as athletes, but I have been told that the academies especially prize the multi-sport athletes and those involved in team sports. Also, if you are able, getting a captain's position would be valuable. But I think your ECs are a highlight and help shore up whatever shortcomings nitpickers might pick out. Also, I'm not sure if you are first generation American or just of Vietnamese decent. I think if it's the former, you may get a slight bump or at least may have a great life story to tell. If it's the latter, I know the academies value diversity but I'm not sure if being Asian by itself gets you any extra points or attention. I'd also want to know about your answer ot the why question. Why USAFA? Are you applying to any other academies and/or ROTC? Anyway, prep for your nomination interview, but I suspect you'll achieve your goal when all is said and done. Good luck!

Not trying to be rude or mean, but if you "do not expect anything out of these answers", why take the time to draft the thread in order to solicit input from anonymous posters on SAF?

Now is the time to "work smarter" and focus on those items within your sphere of control that will enhance your chance for success. You received some good recommendations on areas to work on, so create a plan of action to address these opportunities.

If you feel that the USAFA is the path you should pursue in order to become a commissioned officer in the USAF, go for it. Don't let any of us dissuade you from this course of action (just make sure you have plans B, C, and D in place).

Good luck, and thank you for considering a life of service.

I agree except that I think that the Mile Run time is pretty slow. I get that its on the backside of the other events but it is just not nearly as solid as the rest of your application.
