Am I done for?

It has been a while now, it is mid-March, there are many people who have received appointments already and my application is still PENDING review. Hasn't even been looked at yet.

Is this a bad sign?
First of all, while we are getting down to it right now, look at some other posts and you'll see that there are many in your same boat. Also, how do you know no one has looked at it? I could very well be wrong but I thought the status stayed CPR until it changed to either an appointment or a rejection so there is a stage where it is being looked at but doesn't show that change in the portal. I'm sure some one can speak to that.

It's a good sign that you are still CPR.

Hang in there, you may have to wait another month to hear. Meanwhile, work on backup plans and work on finishing strong with all the classes you are taking now. Oh, and have a little fun but don't do anything stupid and generally stay out of trouble.

TWE's are being sent, pretty much everyday... so if you are CPR that's a good thing. Picture this process as a factory machine separator... all of those prospective candidates go in the hopper and after sorting the few 1,200 appointees pop out. Each day your application doesn't fall through one of the machine's rejection holes, you are one day closer to being appointed. CPR is a good thing right now. If you don't believe me then ask one our group's TWE recipients.

Just to be clear, I wrote the above as much for myself as for the OP. We had to learn to embrace CPR because it is where we're at!

Couldn't agree more. I keep telling my DS as long as you are CPR you are still in the race. Best of luck to you and your DD. Hopefully we both hear some good news soon.

This made me feel a little better in the midst of all the stress. Checking in everyday and seeing CPR is definitely stressful, but I guess not as stressful as a TWE would be. The wait is down to about a month, however most people imply that the next week and a half or so will dictate most appointments so anxiety is setting in. Good luck to all!

My DS had a guy in his plebe summer platoon who got his appointment the first week in June. It ain't over till its over.
i agree with the above, however, these were likely people who either a) needed medical waivers and had LOA/ conditional appointment waiting on a waiver or b) waitlisted, in which case they were notified that they were waitlisted before April 15th. So I agree, hope for the best but plan for the worst (i.e. send the deposit to school B and start thinking what needs to be done in order to reapply next year).

Try not to tackle the Mail Man. Either way it will come when it comes. Good Luck to all.

BryantBoy and WonderGirl, what states are you both in?

Florida District 7.... she was not principle but in the #2-10 competitive group. Don't know if the District was appointed, don't really care. If USNA wants her they will find a way. She'd be happy with NAPS for Foundation School too. If not we'll mourn then start buying stuff for her future dorm room. Chicks love to shop!

I told my DD the same thing. If this doesn't work out we will cry for a few hours then pull it together and start picking out dorm room stuff. She got excited about spending my money.

I think it will be a little more difficult for my DS. He is not excited about going to his choice B school - he only thinks of USNA and views any other school as inferior and only good enough to spend a year in while reapplying to the academy. He also didn't go to any college visits except CVW because it didn't matter to him at that time. I hope he gets excited about his Plan B when he shows up there for classes and being in NROTC should help also..
