Hi I am a female applicant for the class of 2025. I want to know if I have a chance at all. I know that there is a lot of pieces that go into a decision but I'd like to see what people think because I don't have much place to start.

- I go to one of the most rigorous catholic high schools in Oregon. I have a 3.8 GPA and am a member of CNHS and NHS. I play piano, do MUN, and participate in Asian Student Union

- I don't play sports because I have a lot of younger siblings and my dad was deployed for most of my childhood.

- I also don't have an ACT/SAT score yet because they keep getting cancelled but my PACT was a 29

Yes, you certainly have a decent chance of admission. I am hoping your 3.8 GPA is based on taking the most difficult classes your high school has to offer, including honors, AP, or IB if available. Because service academies are so STEM heavy, taking higher level math is also important. Playing a sport is good, but not a deal breaker with your explanation for why you did not. Do you have any leadership experience? It doesn't have to be a sports team captain, but can include just about anything such as student government, school club, church group, community service organization, and more. Try for a position this fall in activities you already participate in. They like to see more than just a title, but also look for the impact you have made as a leader. Keep trying to take the ACT/SAT and really study for it because that score is an important factor. You might want to check surrounding areas for a testing opportunity because they might not be shut down as much in more rural Eastern Oregon or Eastern Washington compared to more Westerly coastal areas I know it's tough during covid19 restrictions, but start your application early so you can get your CFA and DoDMERB done this summer if possible. Good luck!
