Amount Of Candidates Left

Was wondering when the wait list emails would go out, hadn't seen any yet. Sorry about more limbo. The door isn't shut! Definitely continue with Plan B and be mentally prepared for a call anytime. Also stay in shape!

Congratulations RW. Hang in there. Finalize your awesome alternatively wonderful plan for next year while all of the dust settles. Keep your head in the game at school and keep working out.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there's such thing as "too competitive for Foundations or NAPS." If the Admissions Office determines they want you at the Academy but unfortunately the spots are filled in the proceeding class that year, they will offer you Foundations or NAPS. Despite a number of these cases being a result of very mild academic performance problems, a squad leader at NASS '16 told me not ALL Napsters need a slight boost academically.

Not true. USNA doesn't take the next 250 appointees and send them to NAPS. There is a reason each and every one of them goes the prep route. It can be a variety reasons, but the overwhelming majority are due to academics.

That's what I've read also by people that are there or have been there. My son is strong academically but he could use some work physically and they have people there who have awesome scores, but needed to learn that physical side more so than they already know.

So, right, I was wondering the same thing for my own #3 certainly not a portent of good things.

My DS does not have a nomination and our slate has been cleared. I know this because his friend got a nom but received the dreaded TWE from USNA, he too would have been an asset. I suspect because DS does not have a nomination that he is in a different group of candidates. I hope we know by April 15 but it may take longer for NAPS consideration.

What do you think?
I agree with you. Our DS does not have a nomination either.

@texasmom4 @RAC131 no nomination for me either, though they said I would've gotten straight in if I did get nominated so I don't know if they'd put me in NAPS which is for academically or physically DQ'd but I'm very competitive.

DD just called from track practice announcing she has been waitlisted. She then asked for my credit card so she could put down a deposit on Plan B. Disappointed of course but DD has a 4 year NROTC-MO to the University of San Diego including free housing, so no tears. For graduation I'll buy her a surf board and she said she plans to get rid of all her winter stuff because she never wants to live in the land of snow and ice again.

Fingers crossed for everyone else still on the CPR island!
