Wait Listed

A flood of notifications is probably about to occur. My DS just checked his Bear's Den and found out he has been waitlisted. Not great news, not bad news. Good news with a long wait attached.
 
I just received notification via my bears den account that I am wait-listed.
 
Hi I also just received notification that I have been wait-listed. Does anyone know the percentages of wait-listed applicants that do end up receiving an appointment? Trying to get a sense if this is good news or not-so-good news.

DS waitlisted, attended AIM Week 1. Very disappointed this afternoon, but he's determined to keep a positive attitude and keep working on hitting all his academic, EC, athletic goals between now and 5/1.
 
My son was waitlisted yesterday. I am kind of wondering what hurt his application. Our small, private school has this rule that only grades made at that school count towards class rank. My son's GPA does not count any of his grades from his Freshman and Sophomore year, which were straight A's, towards his class rank. That makes his class rank an inaccurate portrayal of his achievement. His class rank is literally based on only two semesters of classes.

As far as academic evaluation goes, class rank does not matter as much. I think it is a combination of grades and SAT/ACT scores. I recommend sending in his grades from his freshman and sophomore year.
