And now we wait...

Bean sprout?

Does anyone know if a scholars appointee is eligible to attend the Academy Experience overnight visit?

If you are offered CGAS, you are not eligible for the Academy Experience. You'll get plenty of Academy experience at CGAS Orientation.:shake: If you've been offered CGAS you are very lucky.

Will they wait until December 24th to let those who didn't get in know?

Process

I'm curious how they organize the process. Do they evaluate regionally or is it those that they got the applications in first? Or do they look at the Aim students first?

I thought I read it went by when your app was complete and I believe they let you know as soon as your app is reviewed and decision is made.

I'd imagine it to be that way^

I don't know for certain how it is for EA, but I read somewhere that RD apps are reviewed in order of their submission.

Did the people who received not so good news find out through bears den or through mail? Also if we already did dodmerb and didn't apply to other academies/ROTC is that a good sign? Does that mean we are competitive?

In my humble opinion, not applying to ROTC/other academies would not have any bearing on an appointment offer.

DD received an email stating that a decision had been made by the board and to check her Bear's Den. The acceptance letter in her Bear's Den had a link to indicate whether she was still interested in receiving an appointment. Upon acceptance, a BFE was sent in the mail with further acceptance paperwork.

If I am reading your question correctly, you are wondering if since USCGA initiated a DoDMERB exam, does that mean you are competitive? If so, I believe the answer is yes. They would not go to the expense of the exams if you are not competitive, and since you did not apply to any other SA or ROTC, USCGA would have initiated that process.

Curious about CGAS offers....where are you guys from (déjavu and Runningirlmom). I haven't heard of any other offers, and wonder if they are rolling them out regionally?

:thumb: here's hoping we hear something soon! All this waiting and wondering is awful!

Thanks! EA decision should be any day now. Unless the dreaded "deferred to RA" arrives.:eek::eek:

Is that waitlist?

Not sure....but from what I remember reading, EA applicants will hear by 12/24. DS was deferred to RA at USNA today, so I'm assuming that might happen to some CGA applicants as well. I wouldn't guess that they'd be waitlisted at this point, but re-reviewed during RA. Waitlisting might happen to RA folks towards the end of the process. Again...all guesses at this point
