Any Boys State Experience

I go as a counselor every year and in New York we bring Army ROTC Cadets to act as junior counselors. It looks great on the application and resumes and it is a very rewarding and eye opening experience.

DS#3 just got his official Boys State paperwork today. PA holds this between Junior and Senior year. Does anyone have any experience with Boys State? His older brother was selected as well but they did not do their week away due to Covid. I'd be interested in any first-hand experience.
DD went last year - loved it, turned down NASS to go as there was a time conflict. Definitely added to the application in our opinion.

My son is there now, and although I've only exchanged a few texts with him, he seems to be loving it! Speakers have included a US Senator, State Representatives, the Governor, and they were a live audience to 2 cases argued before the state Supreme Court. I think it's really pulling him out of his comfort zone, which is so great! I wish my older son had gone!
