Hello all, I have sent my application in and if I am honest, it is completely nerve-racking to me. I'm not sure if I can be accepted or not, but here are my stats and if anyone can give me a good read, it would be extremely helpful.

I go to a very competitive private school outside of Annapolis that has a history of sending students to the Naval Academy
I live in District 4, Maryland.

SAT: 1400- 740 reading, 660 Math
GPA: 4.06

Junior year:
AP CALC AB (5 on exam)
AP Computer Science A (5 on exam)
AP US History (5 on exam)
English 11 (Literature of War)
Honors Physics

Senior year

AP PHYSICS C MECHANICS

First generation American (first family member to be born in America)

Ethnic and religious minority.

Stats are great. I suspect your challenge will be your geographical location...very competitive. Impossible to gauge how that plays out. Knock it out of the park in your essays and interviews. Win that slate!

To answer your title question: yes you have a chance. Good luck.
 
Yes, your stats are impressive. The one thing you have control over is strength of essay and interview. Make them want you! Be confident.
 
You can look at the Class Profile posted on the Admissions website, and see that your stats are certainly good enough for Admission. However, this is a competition, and there are a lot of candidates that are just as good. None of us can tell you how you stack up against your competition.

The weakness I see from this (and most of the other CHANCE ME) posts, is a lack of confidence and need for affirmation. Sometimes these look like a creative writing exercise, trying to check every block on the ideal candidate list, and asking if they have a chance. The only person who doesn't have a chance is the one that doesn't apply. During Plebe Summer , all the stats in the world are meaningless, and the Detailers aren't going to fulfill the need for affirmation. (This applies to post graduation in the Fleet and real world as well).

Bottom line, develop your record throughout your high school career and present the best application possible, and when that is done, start preparing for a solid Plan B. Once the application is done, there is nothing gained by wondering about your chances.

Math is on the ow side for a competitive district. DS is in an underrepresented district and has a 34 math. You should try to get the math up to a 30 or better. You SAT Composite converts to an ACT 31 that also is low for a competitive district. I would try to get those scores up if you can. Plus take my comments as what they are nothing more than ramblings from someone who has no earthly idea if you can get in or not.
 
Your sports look awesome, but remember the SAs use sports to gauge teamwork and leadership capability, not athletic competency. They use the CFA for that. So basically since you have 8 (if I counted right...) varsity letters, I'd imagine they'd expect you to do well on the CFA.
Taking and doing well in AP classes is great, but the exam scores won't be used unless you want to validate courses.
SAT math could be better. Aim for 750+. USNA is a STEM school. Is the GPA you listed (4.06) weighted?

All in all I think you have a great shot, but seeing as you are in a competitive district you will need to ace you interviews! Good luck and I hope we'll see each other next July!
