Any LOAs Yet?

DoDMERB still up in the air for me unfortunately.
I'm not sure if USAFA gives conditional appointments but you might be receiving one of those soon. I had everything complete + LOA and when it was removed a few weeks later it turned into an appointment. I had DODMERB complete, though.

Thanks!

One of my candidates received his appointment over Christmas...he'd received an LOA in November.
They are out there...onesie-twosie types, NOT common...unless you're a recruited athlete.

He was not recruited.

I think a whole bunch of appointments came out day after Christmas. I also think there were a bunch of LOA’s this year to nonrecruited athletes. Not sure if it’s because of Dodmerb but my guess is that they were meant to encourage students to not give up and fall in love with other schools. I have no inside info though - this is just anecdotal.

Have anyone here gotten any help from your montor during your application porcess?

My son applied both USMA and USAFA and he recieved LOE in Oct and LOA in Dec from USMA. His local liasion montor who is a retired US Army veteran and also a West Point graduate was great helping with setting up meetings with a West Point graduate or with current cadets. Also the regional admission officer from West Point was there to answer whenever my son had questions.

My son finished everything including medical exam and cfa, got two nominations, and is waiting to get a result from DodMerb right now, but we have not heard anything from his ALO or AFA Admission office and he didn't receive LOE or LOA either yet. When my son sent an email to his mentor to introduce himself, his ALO basically said, "Thanks for letting me know.". That was it and he had never contacted him since.

I'm wondering what kind of experience you had (are having) with your mentor AOL. Should I be concerned for not hearing anything back?
Thank you!

My son received an appointment conditional on being deemed medically qualified by DoDMERB. That clearance came the following week.

Im wondering if a new letter without any conditions will be generated at some point ?

Once he fulfills the conditions of the LOA, there is no new letter. The next thing he will get is an offer of appointment in a matter of time.

The letter he received was an offer of appointment that contained a condition. It wasn’t an LOA. It included a request to accept or reject the offer by May 1…
He accepted the offer upon receipt.
I’m guessing the letter will be revised at some point.

Ah. That was a conditional offer of appointment , slightly different than an LOA. If he fulfilled the condition, next step is appointment materials, portal updates and whatever else USAFA does.
