Just wondering, has anyone received anything from USNA after the BFE was received? I know DD will get something called a Permit to Report (is this right?) in May, but has anything else been sent out?

Maybe sometimes I think things get lost in the mail (like BFEs or TWEs), and i don't want to blame our intrepid postal carrier, but if there's something out there she is supposed to be on the lookout for, I'd like to know.

As far as we know, the Permit to Report is the next thing she should be looking for. Son rcvd BFE in October, and the only other thing he rcvd since then is the copy of his birth certificate back (we didn't even send a SASE for it, because we didn't need it back, but they sent it back anyway)
Does anyone from last year know how much running around needs to be done after recving the permit to report, is there alot of paperwork involved?

We also have not received anything since the BFE - I know we shouldn't be nervous, but I don't think I'll relax till I say goodbye on I-day (and then I won't be able to relax because I'll be worrying about him )

I only asked the question because I found something online, dated 3/1/2010, that looked like some correspondence prospective students would have received. It was signed by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at USNA. Since his phone # (I checked, it was his #) and his e-mail were on the letter, I e-mailed asking if it was authentic and if our prospective students should have received it. Hopefully I'll get a response!

I hesitate to post the exact link for what I found in case it isn't something the kids should have gotten already and it causes a firestorm. As soon as I hear from the Dean, I'll post the response.

I'm not trying to rush the whole process here, we are SOOOO busy! My DD graduates only 7 days before I-Day!!! No time for fooling around after that.

If you've gone through the admissions process and accepted an appointment in the Class of 2014, you received or will receive a letter from the Office of the Academic Dean and Provost in your Permit to Report packet (to be mailed at the beginning of April).

The letter, which you are referring to, is mailed in the permit to report. They don't always mail this in early April, and if they do, it isn't even mid-month yet. Admissions is really busy and I wouldn't expect that the packet would come until late April or early May. I would just wait and if you haven't received anything by mid-May, then I would be concerned.

I got a response from the Dean - he said the letter I found online is indeed included in the package the kids will receive in May.
