Hi All,

Is anyone having issues with their USNA portal? None of the checkboxes in the progress tab are showing green if though lot of the requested data has been entered. Even my SAT scores are not populated. I have sent email to USNA but no email back from them yet.

Just wondering if I am alone in this.

You are far from alone in this. My application shows 4 items checked but it should be more like 7 or 8. My guidance counselor has yet to receive the extra curricular validation link. I have emailed USNA and they say they are trying to match up SAT scores and transcripts and figure out why things aren’t checked off that should be. BGOs are still waiting for candidate data and even though I know who my BGO is, they cannot do the interview without the data.

Are those SATs officially submitted, or just based on what you entered into your application? I believe it only gets checked once they receive from CollegeBoard. Or, if you submitted when taking the exam, they may have to cross reference to match that submission with your candidacy. At least that is how I would it expect it to be.

On the same boat. Most of my info has been submitted but check marks are still red.

They didn’t ask for SAT info on the new application (maybe on preliminary application, I don’t remember). Mine have only been submitted via College Board.

Not showinb any scores for my DD as well. She did submit officially thru collegeboard.

I’m having an issue as well. All of the text on the screen is suddenly smaller, I can barely read some of the questions now...weird.

I have also had some trouble. I emailed and they "forwarded my concerns to the IT department." They are working really hard to fix everything and my personal statement box got updated today. I had the same problem with my guidance counselor and the emails. Tell your GC to check their spam/junk- my counselor found the emails there. They've had lots of problems but we all need to remember that they are probably getting hundreds of emails about problems everyday. I forwarded my ACT on July 6th and it has not been updated. I saw somewhere that if your ACT/SAT is not updated by October email the department. I know that sounds like a long time but I think nearly every candidate is having some type of problem. I hope everyone is staying healthy!

I will continue to preach patience..this is a marathon, not a sprint. If you have real issues, by all means contact your Admissions Counselor ...but I would suggest waiting a few days to see if the problems resolve themselves (I.e. don't send your Admissions Counselor an email asking why something didn't update 15 minutes after you submitted it !). Also, I wouldn't expect individual feedback from the Admissions Counselor saying your problem is fixed -- they are sending the messages to IT, who compiles the issues and addresses them. I am not a techie by any means, but I am confident that they see trends in the trouble calls, and are addressing the more critical issues first.

I think the BGO's will be overwhelmed with completed applications. How do the BGO's decide which interviews should be done first?

> Does it really matter ? This isn't a race to the finish line -- I am confident that BGO's , can handle the awful stress of managing the rush of candidates - at least I will . :)

I try to be careful not to pass judgment on candidates , but here's a hint-- first impressions count. Be patient, and recognize that BGO's are all volunteers, we do this to support the Naval Academy and will do what is necessary to get the job done right, but also realize that we have real careers and might not drop everything so a candidate can be the first one to finish their application.

This is not that difficult an issue for most BGOs at least not in my area. We have one or two who tend to get more than 20 candidates but the majority do not and they qualify for interviews (>50% of requirements done) at vastly different times. It is still VERY early in the cycle and considering that schools have been closed in many areas, I doubt that many will be ready to go in the next couple of weeks.

DD all completed but for CFA, Nomination. Still issues with progress checkbox, SAT score mapping, DoDmerb.
