Anyone hear for AROTC?

Thanks Jcleppe. What you say is true. Two years ago my older son saw that and also received the DoDMERB packet in the mail prior to any other info. I think this year there are those that have taken the DoDMERB that could be seeing status changes but none that haven't taken the DoDMERB yet.
Meanwhile, ROO e-mailed son last week and invited him up a week from this Wednesday to "shadow a cadet" for a day on Campus.
We remain hopeful.
Good-luck to Everyone!

Best of luck to your son.

A trip to the campus to shadow a cadet is a great idea, it's always a good idea to keep a good relationship with the battalion.

It does look like some applicants that did not apply to a SA or complete the Physical are seeing their status page change as well. More definite status changes are most likely soon to come.

Did these medical statuses change all at once? Or is there still hope that it could change for those of us whose haven't changed yet?

I wouldn't doubt there will be more changes since they have yet to make any official changes.

Would it be an option to reach out to schools to see if the have received any info in regards to scholarship?

There is a chance they won't mind, there is a chance they could be annoyed.

Just consider there are close to 10,000 applicants nation wide and only a very few are watching a board like this one. This means the battalions could be getting flooded with phone calls and are having to give the same answers to each caller that you are getting here.

Marist and Clarkson are ROO's they will know what's happening as much as any school. As soon as the results are being released, one of them will post, if someone else doesn't first.

Since they are loading the information to CCIMS it should not be long now.

Just as a note, ROO's are told not to give out scholarship results until the final letters are sent. Some have told applicants in the past but the rule is not to tell until the letter is sent.

JMPO, why reach out now? The decision has been made, results have yet to be posted.

Wait until results are posted and if you are not on the list contact them to investigate why?

What would you accomplish now by contacting when results are not released?

I get it. However, it's extremely suspenseful. He has a 4yr NROTC and FFR from WP is very optimistic. Just would like to be able to discuss options with him so he can give his intentions to ROTC programs and either free up billets or accept....and let's be honest, we are all chomping at the bit.

I get you want to move on with life, but IMPO, and JMPO, the AD members that say hurry up and wait is life in the military aren't joking, This is going to be a part of his lfe.

You can call, email, pm, etc, all you want, just remember while you do all of this, and be snoopy over the dog bowl, memories are not being made.

What will be will be. It is out of your hands.

Open a beer or a bottle of wine, play scrabble or dominoes with him. Do whatever it takes to get you are helpless now...the cards have been dealt, and you just need to wait to see if you have the winning hand.

Come July/Aug/Sept. you will look back at this with a different lens.

You are right. It sems as if the process just started yesterday, though it was a year ago. I was under the impression, from previous posts, that the schools were a great source of info. Just continuwe to check back on the forum every so often.

I would imagine it will take a couple days to actually update individual status pages, given how few people do this updating.

Hang in there everyone, hopefully it will be sooner then later.

I have not seen any additions to the list of scholarship winners today.

Do you believe that those who have had their DoDMERB info changed have a possible award coming to them? After another 3 or 4 days, is it safe to say that nothing has come through?

Marist,

Curiosity how long before what you see shows up on candidate's portals?

The Dodmerb change in status could mean any number of things, nobody will really know if it was an indicator of a scholarship award until the updates are made.

As far as the 3 or 4 days, once the updates start you will see people on this board start to post that they were offered a scholarship. If after 3 or 4 days from these people posting you have not seen your status change, then you have most likely been rolled over to the next board.

Word from Brigade...Cadet Command will be sending out letters on Friday, which means until Friday anything you see in the system could change. ROOs will have permission to start notifying applicants some time next week. Everyone go for a run and then do some pushups.

That should be welcome news to all who are anxiously waiting. I looked back into the thread for the January 2011 board and saw that announcements of scholarships didn't come out until the end of February/early March. By the time any news was out, the thread was over 80 pages long.

Boy that was an interesting 2+ months, it was during the big budget balyhoo, speculation was running rampant. I believe CC was right in the middle of the move to Ft. Knox at the time as well....the perfect storm.

WeinerDog, Just want to remind you of what you already know... there will be plenty of time to discuss options once all offers are in hand. There is no rush to do it. In the meantime you should accept all scholarship offers that come your way. You can always decline it later if a more preferable offer comes along.

If WP comes through there is a school of thought that says you should hang on to one ROTC offer until you report to the Academy, even including sending in the deposit to the school. This is insurance against an injury which prevents DS from reporting while with more recovery time he will still be able to participate in ROTC. The school deposit is the insurance payment. Not saying you should do this, just presenting the option.

Thats GREAT advice. Never thought of keeping an ROTC option for any reason. DS will have to accept and wait for WP either way. So, really no hurry other than to satisfy own curiousity.

so if letters are supposedly getting mailed out Friday will the portal change before that or at all in some cases not change?
