Anyone heard from the wait list?

Navy616, from what I've read, when you accept a late appointment, they fedex the info to you. The person who's son received an appointment June 11th last year, said they received their packet the next day.
Quite frankly, it would be a wonderful problem to have!

I called USNA today regarding the status of our son on the waitlist. He'll be receiving a "letter". So, he has been turned down.

Thanks to all of you who have been so helpful and best of luck to sons and daughters seeking an appointment.

Our son's Plan B is firmly in place for Virginia Military Institute.

Thanks again,

Murf

I just called too. Same news here. She said decisions were made yesterday, and a turn down letter went out for my DS.
So, on to Plan B!
Thank you everyone for all your help and wishes!

Go Navy!
Beat Everyone but Air Force!

Murf- sorry to hear about your son's turn down but things have a way of turning out just fine. My prediction: by September his Plan B will seem like it was his Plan A!
If he or you have any questions about VMI- come on over to the Senior Military College Forum or PM me.

Please don't be too discouraged if you receive a TWE. One of my extremely well-qualified WL candidates was considered by USNA "very likely" to be offered an appt. He was turned down. This tells me they took very, very few from the WL.

For those of you excited about your "Plan B" -- now a great Plan A, best of luck to you. If you were WLed this year and still have the desire, do consider reapplying. See my sticky above on how to proceed.

I'm not sure if he'll re-apply or not. I kind of doubt it. But, who knows ...

Thanks for asking though

DS has been unable to reach his RD, so we still don't know his status. Does anyone know if they have officially closed the wait list for 2014? And if the list is closed, what happens if on I-day they had some no-shows or last minute drop-outs, will they still fill those spots?

Navy616, call the Naval Academy admissions number. The lady that answers the phone can check the wait list status of your son while you're on the line. You do not have to speak to the RD.
Best of luck to you!

Just received my rejection letter today after being on the waitlist. Going to attend Northwestern Prep School and re-apply next year:thumb:
