Anyone needing advice on their application or life at WP

Can you talk about the academics so far? How much time you spend on it in a day typically, hardest class to take as a 4th class cadet, easiest class, etc.

So I’m not gonna lie, the academics here are a lot. It’s not so much that they’re hard but you will have homework everyday in every class. However, if you have great time management you can get way ahead on HW. As for as hardest vs easiest that would really depend on the person and what they like. For me chem is harder but I haven’t taken chem in over 3 yrs. Also if you test into the more advanced classes could change that. Some of the advanced classes are actually easier because there’s less HW. If you have any more questions lmk!

whats a normal PT routine at wp? (kind of a weird question, i apologize 😂)
There's no morning PT during the academic year, if that's what you're getting at. The only time you'd HAVE to do morning PT is if you fail your PT test, but that morning PT would be company-dependent. The only required physical activity at West Point are DPE classes and one ACFT per semester. Aside from that, you're expected to stay in shape on your own.

How many times do you have to complete the IOCT throughout your time there? Sorry, super random question! I am just curious.

OP probably won't know the answer to that one--you will take it every class during Military Movement, then once every semester (unless you do really well as a Cow, then you don't have to take it as a Firstie).

Do you think that 35 Push-ups are enough to pass the CFA?
Depends, male or female? I believe that’s passing but will put you slightly below the average. However I wouldn’t stress too much tbh

Thank you (I am male), I am very worried about my CFA scores because many people told me that it's very difficult to pass.
I do not know if these are good enough to pass it:

BB Throw - 72ft
Pull-ups - 5
Shuttle run - 8.8
Sit-ups - 79
Push-ups - 38
Mile Run - 6:33

Here are the national averages for each event:
67 ft. BB throw
9 Pull-ups
9.1 sec. shuttle run
72 sit-ups
54 - push-ups
6:43 - run

Your BB throw, shuttle run, mile run, and sit-ups are above the national averages. However, your pushups and pull-ups are below the averages.

For reference, I took the CFA a couple weeks ago and passed with the following scores:

62 ft BB throw
12 pull-ups
8.9 sec shuttle run
90 sit-ups
63 push-ups
5:18 run

I can't say for certain, but I think as long as you do above average in all, or nearly all, the events, you'll be okay! Strive to max out in everything, but it's meant to be difficult.

Thank you, In your opinion how many chances do I have? Do you think those are passing scores?

The average is above passing but you want to strive for as high as you can get, I got about average on four events and above average on two and did fine and you'd also be fine with a little lesser scores.

For anyone taking the CFA, be certain that you practice and execute each event as if you were taking the actual test. Ex: It is not the same as just going out and knocking out 50 push-ups all by itself.
Also be certain that your form is absolutely correct for each event. Can’t emphasize enough. You will be required to submit video evidence of proper form while taking the CFA for USMA.

Don’t set your goal to just “pass”.

How do you know that?
the good news is you have time to increase your scores. Plenty of videos and plans on the internet to increase your CFA numbers, and / or your specific areas that need some improvement. Good increases in only a couple of weeks, if you put the time into it.

Thank you very much, I hope so.

You are a male and the minimum for males is definitely above 38. If you fail to hit a minimum standard your whole CFA is a failure. Pullups are looking a little low as well. Passing CFA scores are determined by the average of your class. Retake the CFA and make sure you aim for ~8 pullups and ~45-49 pushups.
