Anyone Still Waiting to Hear?

DS is still waiting. DS was awarded the 4 year NROTC scholarship this week. Should he go ahead and accept or continue waiting? His first choice is the Naval Academy. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Accepting the scholarship now is not binding. If DS is accepted to USNA his scholarship is rescinded upon entering on I-Day. This is explained on page 5 of the selection booklet found on NETFOCUS. Accepting it will allow for registration for New Student Indoctrination to begin.

I assume a lot of other people are still waiting, too. The site is loading really slow.

Does anyone know when NAPS notifies accepted candidates? How many students are accepted to NAPS/foundation? My grades were easily the weakest part of my application, does that mean NAPS is likely?

April 15 .. NAPS offers have been, and will be, communicated through USNA Admissions. There is no separate NAPS admissions process.

Is NAPS possible...yes; "More" likely - no,

My DS is still waiting as well. 2 noms. His test scores and extracurricular are extremely strong. What do you consider weak grades- just out of curiosity? I think he may be in the same boat.

I had about a 3.2 GPA. I had excellent test scores, plenty of extra curriculars, varsity sports, community service, and leadership positions. My class load is pretty heavy though, as I’ve taken as many Honors and AP classes as possible.

I have a nomination and am CPR. However, I have not gotten any mail or information since the nomination in January. Should I be concerned? As well is anyone else still waiting? What news will I hear first? Email?, MOC?, or BGO?
My son is also waiting.

DS's BGO e-mailed him yesterday asking if he had heard anything. You will know before the BGO

USUALLY before the BGO. My plebe that I had for my CVW in September was given a heads up by his BGO that he should be on the lookout for “an early Christmas present” (I forget if it was a LOA or BFE)

First time post, long time lurker but DS has a LOA and we are still waiting for medical waivers. He has a solid Plan B but USNA has always been his #1 goal.
