I get process, appeal, etc.

Issue is why set child up in never going to happen?

Confusing here, too.. 2 years off meds? 1 year before physical? What is latest as my kid stopped july 1, with doc's consent. We are re testing to see if diagnosis wrong, too.

I was in a similar position when my daughter expressed interest in service academies. I called the academies and was told they want to see 2 years off meds. She stopped meds at end ok f 11th grade and her grades actually improved. The end result-appointment to one service academy and preparatory school for another. I've been told it is so common that one should not be discouraged. Bottom line is how does student do when off meds? Good luck !

Not only must the student be off meds but also must not need any special accommodations, such as extra time for tests, sitting in front of the room, etc.

It definitely is possible but agree with the above poster that calling the SAs (and speaking to their medical rep) will help you figure out what needs to be done. However, please ensure you consult your child's personal physician before making any changes to medication, etc.
