Ap exams

AP classes dont really teach to the test IMO
Several AP’s at my kid’s school had terrible teachers who would show videos of other people teaching specifically to the test. The teacher didn’t know the content. Maybe you were lucky enough to have good teachers.

One could also argue that a class that just teaches to a test is also not a good verification of a student’s understanding of a subject. Also, I could be wrong but I thought the LIB did say some college classes could be accepted.

Some of my students were able to exempt Plebe courses based on successful completion of college courses taken while in high school.
Official transcripts will be needed.

Someone’s brought it up already but it’s not ridiculous to just take the class again and get an A. boosts the gpa which can look favorably on the transcript God forbid you get a ARB. I didn’t exempt even though I could (covid year I ended up not taking ap tests as they told us it wouldn’t apply, come to find out it could’ve.), and i was light years ahead in chemistry i didnt have to study for a single test throughout all of I and II. My high school had a very good chem program though.

This is where my DD is confused. She has taken 2 English Composition and 2 Literature courses while in high school (plus many others courses that are not relevant to USMMA). She read page 53 of the LIB about academic course exemptions, but there is also a line that says "The Humanities department will not grant exemptions for dual enrollment or AP/IB classes." The English courses she took appear on her college transcript and were taught by a professor at the college. However, she earned high school credit for completing the college courses, so to me that means "dual credit." Can anyone clarify?
