Do the service academies look at your AP scores for admissions purposes? I'm taking three AP tests over the next few weeks and you get to send your scores to 4? schools for free. I don't want to send them to USMA if they won't even consider it as part of my file.

Nah, I don't think so. Also, what is the point of sending your AP scores? Does it generally help your chances of admissions?

Some AP scores, especially for math courses, are used to determine whether you can take the test to validate the course at USMA.

Yeah I get that, and I would definitely send my AP scores if I got in. But some schools actually use your AP scores for admissions, so I just wanted to know if USMA is one of them. It doesn't sound like it though, I'll send them elsewhere.

I'm not certain on WP (although I should be  ), but I do know that for USAFA it said AP scores were used in the admissions process. My son started sending his in 10th grade when he took them. We didn't know until last year that the AP scores are cumulative, so if you wait and send them at the end of say junior year, it will include your sophomore scores as well. I figure it has to be like anything else in admissions - can't hurt, might help. I'd go ahead and send them and if you do well, hope it might give you an edge.

If your in an AP class it's definetly worth studying hard to do ur best on the AP for a variety of reasons. Although they might not require it, you can definetly send them in to the admissions office and they'll see it. Plus in the event that u gain acceptance if u did well on the test u can validate the class

You can use your AP scores to help with the class validation process. However, I have not read or heard anywhere that they are required by the admissions board
