Applicants For The Class of 2023

Hello from Florida! I am new to the forum and tried to join the class of 2023 group me, but it gave me an error. I am applying to West Point and Navy

Hi, once you reach the required number of posts (I believe it’s five) shoot me a PM and I’ll add you to the GroupMe.

Thank you so much! I will post some more and PM you!

Wondering if anybody is looking to get recruited to play a sport at one of the Academies? I would like to swim and have talked to the West Point coach. The recruiting rocess is different than at a traditional school, so trying to figure it out.

Does anybody know how the prospective candidate weekends work? I am assuming it is based on how complete your file is by the fall of your senior year.

Hey everyone!

I'm PV2 Bell, and I'm applying through the enlisted route.

Unfortunately, I still have a bunch of hurdles to jump through, but I'm hoping to square away my application as soon as possible and make a great case for myself and my potential as a c/o 2023 appointee.

I'm originally from Indiana, but the Army has me out in California right now.

I look forward to connecting with other applicants!

Hey, I’m a current senior who was offered Prep School (Only 3.4 GPA and 1310 SAT), but excelled in every other aspect of school including var sports and ECs. All AP couseload. I’m from Southern California.

So I’m class of 2023 if that counts :) If you guys need any help from someone who just went through the application process feel free to contact me.

So when did you find out that you were offered a prep school spot...is it the same timeframe?

Well, in November, I took a trip there for 2 nights, paid for by them. A lot of kids there got their appointments at the dinner/ceremony the night before we left, both to USMA and USMAPS. I didn’t get either, due to a few complications in my application. But they assured me that everyone who was there was selected because they wanted us, so that brought comfort. I got word of my USMAPS LOA in February.

My timeline is a unique one, and there’s no way in telling how yours will look like. If all goes well, you should get your word alot sooner than I did. One tip I will tell you, is to keep in contact with your FFR as much as you can. Don’t harrass them, but work with them in a way that lets them know that WP is what you want. They are the ones vouching for you when your application is presented to the commitee and you want them to fight for you as if you were fighting for yourself.

To answer your question straight forwardly, the timeline should be somewhat the same.

Hey CCs, I'm currently active duty enlisted, deployed to Afghanistan. Hoping to be a direct admit Class of 2023, I was nominated but did not receive an appointment in the Class of 2020, not the end of the world though. Hope y'all are staying motivated, and if you're going to SLE, its a great time.

Make sure you all have a Plan B--Army ROTC. Clearly the National Scholarship process is the preferred route. But there is also the Congressional Scholarship Initiative for those nominated or those who don't get nominated. Talk with the Recruiting Officer at your Plan B school. If you like the outdoors think about Montana State. Incredible Engineering school, mountains, and skiing. Montana State is currently offering National 3yr winners a freshman tuition waiver (worth ~$23,000). And you don't need to win a national scholarship to do ROTC. Just walk in. Hey everyone, a little late hopping in this thread to introduce myself, but my name is Henning and I’m from Massachusetts. I’m wicked excited to meet all of you, and I hope to see you soon either at SLE, at a West Point campus visit, or if (you’re from mass) at Boy State!

Field Force Representative.
Yes, I was accepted into SLE last year. I’m currently ending my senior year, so I’ll be entering USMAPS this summer.
