My DS has one ACT and SAT, Dobmerb “closed” Presidential nom, CFA (planning to re do)

Yes, His CFA was done at SLE, ACT & SATs sent along the way. Transcript sent last month. His counselor is on it so she did her parts today. A lot was prefilled in from the SLE application so it was just confirming and adding a bit. His boss sent the eval today. His English teacher did her eval. Dodmerb opened a few weeks ago from USNA or USAFA, not sure who, but he did that Monday and Tuesday. Two out of three essays done. It's not a race so put forth your best package but it's really not that hard. Of course this is the third time our family has been on this ride so we knew/know what to expect and that helps a lot. He was prepared with teachers names and email addresses and he talked to them prior to school getting out so they were prepared. He had an idea about the essays so he could think about them. Things do change year to year, more is online every time, but that only serves to help the process. I do, however, wish there was a Service Academy common app

Be positive! Not sure the rhyme nor reason to portals opening today for some and not others but work on your nomination apps and think about essays. It is a HUGE hurry up and wait gauntlet.

Mine isn’t open yet either but I’m guessing maybe because I’m a reapplicant. Any reapplicants have open portals yet?

I’m a reapplicant and my portal opened yesterday/1 August. Also, if you were cleared on your dodmerb previously then they are good for two years is what my RC and FFR let me know.

Did you just log in to the same portal as last cycle or did you have do start another application? It was my understanding that I didn’t have to open a new one

Thank you...DS would like to finish as much as he can before school starts, Aug 9. My DS#1 did this too, we have an ideas how to get it done. Which academy your other 2 goes? My DS1 at CGA.

My oldest just graduated from USAFA and my son is class of 2021 at USAFA.

DS had the same problem, he emailed admissions the night the portal opened and the following day in the afternoon it was already fixed.

You have same issue as me right now.... But I think it depends on where you reside because for some people it's already opened but for some others it is still "pending"....

I guess we will have to wait and work on the essays until then...

Hello! My name is Hannah and I live in Connecticut, a quick drive from Coast Guard.

I agree with the idea of working together moving forwards! I started following all the 2023 Applicants I could find a little while back but it seems more are flocking here now, making that a little difficult. I thought the exact same thing as you in trying to find some place to bounce ideas off another!

I’ve tried to answer a lot of questions from others in our prospective class, as I’ve spent more time researching and watching YouTube videos on West Point than I care to admit. If you guys have any questions I’ll give it my best shot.

I submitted my SLE application a little after midnight last night—I was a little eager to get started. I look forward to tracking all of you guys’ progress and maybe we’ll all get to meet each other on R-Day.[emoji4]
