For any 2025 candidates, the deadline for all parts of your application other than medical is Feb. 28. Suggest you target this week as all sort of things can happen in the next 2+ weeks -- poor weather, family member comes down with COVID and you're in quarantine, etc.

Two items to focus on because they involve someone other than you. First, your CFA. Do NOT wait until the last week and then complain that your gym teacher, coach, BGO or someone else wasn't available or that the weather was terrible or any other excuse. If you're not ready to take it today -- after 9+ months to prepare -- you're not going to be significantly more ready in another 2 weeks.

Second, BGO interview. If you haven't heard from your BGO, reach out NOW. If you can't get in touch with your BGO after reasonable attempts, contact your Area Coordinator. I guarantee your BGO won't be happy to get a call or email the last week of the month "demanding" that you schedule an interview. Your BGO may be busy or have personal issues that week. As noted above, applications have been open since May/June. Keep in mind that virtual BGO interviews are OK.

As a reminder, medical does not need to be complete or even scheduled by Feb. 28.

Son just received his snail mail letter with MOC of appointment. It was dated 1/23. We are thrilled to have this mandatory ✅ for the process. His portal indicates no nomination. Should we be concerned? Is it safe to assume the Congressional Office did not drop the ball and sent information before January 31 deadline? This is a well tenured representative. All that is left is Medical Exam, BGO is helping with facilitation of that.

My nomination to WP took almost a month to show up in my portal. I’d say don’t worry, but if you want to ease your mind just email your MOC or RC to double check that they have it sent over. Congrats to your son on the nomination!

Do you mean "nomination" rather than "appointment" in the first sentence?

Due to challenges with the new system being used by Admissions, it appears that many documents must be manually reviewed and entered this year. Thus, it could take weeks for your portal to be updated. Even if your MOC did submit late (which I doubt if he/she is long-tenured), I would be shocked if USNA didn't accept it a few days late. After all, keeping Congress happy is key!

Send the MOC letter to Admissions.

Welp, my BGO portal (BGIS) popped up a new candidate FOR THIS cycle yesterday. I pushed a note to my Area Coordinator and said that I'd look into it and find out more as BGIS says no nomination and none of the elements completed yet.
I got to speak to the candidate's parent this morning and discovered that this was in fact for THIS cycle but the candidate was trying to apply for an NROTC scholarship and somehow it triggered him into the USNA system. Yes, he is two weeks late for an NROTC application already so that door for this year is closed already as well. Turns out the candidate is planning to go to Norwich and they were hoping to get some funding for it. Not to make a value judgement here but the mapping feature in BGIS showed me that the candidate lives in a fairly exclusive gated community so I am not as worried about the ability to fund Norwich.

This may make you feel better, but USNA must have the official notification from the MOC's office.
DS has been in touch with Admissions Officer and all documentation is in All good, just waiting to schedule Medical Exam. I most sincerely hope that is not due the end of Feb. BGO officer has been trying to facilitate that for 3 weeks now.

Medical exam is not due by the applications 2/28 deadline.

The BGO can't do anything on the medical side. In fact, we're strongly encouraged to stay out of anything medical, for privacy reasons among others. Your DS should be in touch with his admissions officer (regional director). Only that person can move things forward more quickly. Thwe BGO really can't. And, as stated above, medical is not due by 2/28.

Great reminder for candidates @usna1985 ! Something that I thought admissions did that was really strange was to send out an e-mail blast to everyone (I assume) on their HS class of 2021 list on January 26 to remind them that they have until January 31 to begin their application for the C/O 2025. I laughed out loud when DS, CVW attendee from last year, showed it to me. Good luck getting a nom! Seriously, why bother sending that e-mail at all? For the maybe one super-person who could actually obtain admission when starting an app on January 26? But as we all know, the military often makes no sense.

Does the BGO interview need to be completed by the 28th as well? I know for USAFA the interview is after the first deadline, not sure if it's the same for USNA

At that point, any offers would most likely be NAPS and Foundation candidates.

Yes and no. USNA really wants the interviews done on time. However, they will accept them a few days later. IOW, BGOs aren't subject to the deadline. :)

How late can they be? Not sure there's a magic number in terms of how long USNA will wait. If it's really a crunch and the assigned BGO isn't available, the AC might reassign the candidate. But it's really not great to push your interview to the last minute.
