On the USNA website under the "Admissions" tab it says,

"If you graduate after 2011, you are too young to apply for this class..."

When will this switch to,

"If you graduate after 2012, you are too young to apply for this class..."

In other words, when will the official c/o 2016 application open? I know that the NASS application opens on 1 Feb 2011. Is this also the date that the official c/o 2016 application opens? Or is it after 15 April when most current applicants are notified of their final status?

Thanks,
JHORNET

I THINK it's May 1 but someone else correct me if I'm wrong.

I was able to complete my USAFA and USMA apps soon after attending the SLS's for both. They won't open up til May/June'ish. That being said, relax and focus on schoolwork this year after you get your SS apps in! You're already going to be finishing up your college apps if you're like me before any of your classmates start theirs! (Fun part of this year is being able to relax). What I've been learning is that everything comes in its own due time. Might as well slow down and enjoy the experiences you're having as they come

While it's not always precise, USNA catalog says 01 April. And that's no foolin'! :wink:Start your engines.:thumb:

In retrospect, the April 1 date makes sense as BGOs start seeing information in our system on May 1. Regardless, USNA doesn't generally focus on the next class until I-Day for the current class. Individual Regional Directors, including those focused on diversity, may be contacting candidates, but no one is going to be reviewing your record until August.

The above said, there is no reason that YOU shouldn't get started in April or May. That can be a great time to get your teacher recommendations lined up, start working on your essay, etc. However, if you are busy studying for finals, AP tests, SATs, etc., you can certainly wait to start on your USNA application until the summer.
