Application Status page down

It's down again up here in the Northeast! (The sunglasses are for the snow glare).

I was thinking the same thing. Not stressed, just bored!

And I just came in from shoveling the snow - this is definitely more fun!

OK, you'll all be happy to know....the site is back up.
I tried it at 1pm Houston time and its up

Also seemed to be updated too

Congrats Salty - what was new on it for you?! Did your daughter accept her appointment now?

I just checked both of my son's (admissions and summer seminar) and they're both up, but no changes to either.

Thanks.
She mailed her Acceptance off on Wednesday but I'm sure it hasn't arrived in the "Snail Mail" yet but I did notice that under the Offer Acceptance it has a new section to click on for the upcoming Orientation.

Ah, I didn't notice that. Think it's still a work in progress though because when I click on the "click here for more information and agenda" I just get kicked out and have to log in again. And the part that says "include response options/dates here" I'm pretty sure they're going to change to include that - nothing we can do there. But hopefully it'll be there soon!

How's everything going for you guys (S)?
What stage are you (S) at right now for the USAFA application?

S has his appointment, but is waiting until after CVW at Navy in 2 weeks (also has his Navy appointment) to make a final decision. Probably about 90 percent sure he wants AF, but wants to give Navy one more look/see! What orientation were you planning on going to? We're looking at the first, but hesitant to actually book any air until we know for sure the agenda and that he's confirmed for that one!

Sounds like your S & my D were extremely lucky this year. Yrs with AF & N and mine with AF and Westpoint. She liked both but AF was liked better :thumb:

We are going to attend the last session in April..I believe its 26 & 27..reason being she has a JROTC competition during 1st session and her JROTC graduation during 2nd one.

Hopefully, not everyone will pick the first 2 sessions...cos we are hoping to meet some of these wonderful Parents and their Sons/Daughters

Thanks - I was in the same place as your daughter some 25 years ago, but (obviously), I chose WP!

We're going with the first orientation because our spring break is the previous week (week after Easter) so we can go out a few days early without my son missing school and hopefully do some skiing and visit with several people we know in the area.

Thats wonderful.
I'm sure everyone is extremely excited....how time flies by
Our Spring break is in March so that doesn't help us out at all.
Hotels are booking up fast according to the AFA staff...so book up fast
I'm sure we will all be back on this forum after our visits telling our stories !!!

We are probably going the last week as well. You could always book a hotel room now, those are easy to cancel without any committment. The airlines fares are a different story however.

Thanks - I have a couple different ones booked right now since we're trying to juggle a day or two of skiing but that may depend on what other people's plans are! And I booked in Silverthorne (?) outside of the ski areas, but as we get closer I may get some deals on slopeside accommodations, which I don't want to even try booking now since they're non-refundable.

Your talking about your daughter's conflicts motivated me to pull up the track schedule for the first time, but it looks like my son would have a track meet every one of those Mondays, so he'll have to miss one in any case. The last weekend he'd also be missing one on the Friday before, so it looks like the first weekend still works as well for us. Plus the further out we go, the closer to AP tests he gets so we're thinking it's better to miss the couple days back from break (the first of which is usually a waste anyways!) than the week before AP's when they're studying seriously!

Strangely, we've had our break in March every year before this one - usually got Good Friday off, and maybe Monday after Easter, but not that week for the Spring Break. Seems like a really long time now until break, with 3 full months of school with no time off!

SandyDandy.....look forward to seeing you there

We booked the Academy Hotel (Best Western) got good reviews and has shuttle to/from Airport and AFA..and of course the msit important thing of all.....HOT BREAKFAST!! haha

Our flight is booked ready to go...cos knowing us it will be full by the time we decide to do it..so we jumped on it fast.
AFA recommended booking Hotels ASAP..so of course...we did that too :thumb:

I think you just have to look at your schedule and pick the best time. All of these appointees are going to miss something in school. In the end we will be one big "Class of 2014", the red class by the way. We are also going out to COS for Inprocessing and Acceptance Day and naturally Parent's Weekend. Yipee!

OK, just like "Marciemi" stated...when you try to click on the Orientation section that has just been posted... it doesn't connect...and throws you straight back
Guess we will need to be patient and wait until they fix it...but I'll keep checking it throughout the day

Just popping this up to point out that the whole orientation part on the application seems to be gone again now!

On the plus side, my son's Dodmerb page showed "Offer Extended" for the first time today (even though he's had the appointment for a couple weeks). However, he has a friend who received a nomination (and has an LOA) and his nomination showed up for the first time today on the USAFA page, but his Dodmerb states changed to "Offer Extended" today as well! So it sounds like there's no rhyme or reason. I'll just keep watching for more orientation info!
