WHAT ARE MY CHANCES? Seeing that others have already gotten news, I'm becoming anxious.

On paper--pretty good.

The majority of appointments come out in the spring, so you are likely going to be waiting for a while.

Did your member of congress announce you as a nomination yet?

No, not yet. I haven't had the interviews yet.

Well, then, why are you anxious? You haven't even completed the application process yet.

The academy can't give you a "Yes" or "No" if you haven't completed all the steps to apply.

As mentioned, there's a lot of parts to receiving an appointment. The only way anyone has received an appointment yet, is if they receive a NON-Congressional nomination. E.g. Presidential. There are some superintendent nominations available, but these are usually held til the end when someone is definitely a candidate that the academy wants in, but they didn't receive a nomination. So again; if someone has stated they HAVE AN APPOINTMENT, then they have a nomination from someone other than a congressman/senator. Without possible a less than 1% chance, most congressionals haven't even interviewed yet.

It is possible that some people mentioned receiving an LOA. (Letter of Assurance). I've seen some receive an LOA and call it and consider it an "Appointment". Even though it really ISN'T an appointment. It's a guarantee (Assurance) of an appointment if they are 100% qualified and have a nomination. We have seen some with an LOA NOT RECEIVE an appointment. Either they didn't receive a nomination, or something in their application wasn't qualified.

So chances are, if you were part of the "EA" program, and your application is 100% complete, you'll hear something in January. If you weren't in the "EA" program, or you don't have your application 100% complete by 1 November; you'll be hearing in the April time frame. Good luck.

I just wanted to know my chances based upon the knowledge provided if I had hypothetically received a nomination.
