applying for other scholarships

My son received a phone call regarding a Marine option scholarship. Based on information obtained from other threads I understand that it may be a long time before we know for sure regarding his school choices. He thought that he signed something stating that other scholarships could not be used with this scholarship. Is this the case? He has chosen not to apply for any of our local area scholarships because of this. Understand we are completely happy with his decisions and the generous scholarship, just nervous about not applying for others when paperwork is not in hand.

I don't know the Navy/Marine Corps policy on that, but I would say that it'd be a good idea to have other scholarships available in case for whatever reason this one doesn't work out/he wants a different path in life/etc. Options are always good.
