So, I am applying for USMA and have already done my medical exam etc etc etc.

If I don't get into USMA, my hope is to at least get an ROTC scholarship.

My question is, do I have to apply to USMA and the ROTC scholarship separately? Or, does my applying to USMA also mean I am being considered for the ROTC scholarship (should I not make it into USMA)?

They are two completely separate processes. You need to do a distinct application for both. Your DoDMERB results may be shared with both, but everything else is independent of the other.

Mk. Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure and wanted to make sure before I submitted my ROTC application...

I have another question....in the application it says "Compete for application to USMA? If yes, Cadet Command will share information with USMA". If I am already applying to USMA (I already have an admissions file open) then should I check yes or check no?

I would say be honest and check "yes." That is what you are doing. Like I said earlier, your physical will be shared between the two entities. There is no disadvantage in letting them know you are applying for both. Lots of academy cadets apply for both.

Yes be honest because if you aren't you A. are going against the honor code. B. You will probably be doing double work.

Last year, I had a friend who applied to USMA. He did not apply to Army ROTC. USMA gave him the ROTC scholarship. Just thought that was interesting.

Candidates who are Fully Qualfied but Not selected at USMA will be offered a AROTC scholarship at the school of their choice - as long as that school offers AROTC, even if the deadline has passed.

However, if AROTC is in your backup plan NOW - apply for it separately. It helps and it's nice to have in your back pocket.
