Hello, I am a candidate for the class of 2020 at the U.S Naval Academy. Tomorrow, I will have submitted the last portion of my application, namely the Candidate Fitness Assessment.

My BGO had been pushing for me to complete my application by an earlier date, around October time. My question is will I still be competitive for an appointment even when submitting my application around this time?

As long as you are in by the deadline, your application isn't really affected. Getting it in early shows your BGO your motivation which could help you a little bit when they write your recommendation. Also, the earlier your application is finished, the earlier your application will be reviewed by USNA.

Did you get your application in time for the nomination interviews? Most have already been done around here.

You are fine. Yes there are some advantages to being done early, but you are fine. For the most part, unless a candidate has amazing stats, they will have to wait for nominations to be completed anyways. Coach brings up probably the biggest issue... Noms. Assuming your child has completed those applications/interviews they are fine.
