Does anyone know if a candidate that has been offered appointment can go on a visit now before making a decision? If so how do you arrange it and what does the visit include? Thanks!

Contact your BGO to request a CVW. Most spring CVWs are for juniors but they also allow appointed seniors contemplating appointments.

I recommend calling admissions directly first thing tomorrow. I believe there are 2 Candidate Visit Weekends left. Congrats and best wishes!

The Candidate Visit Weekend (CVW) program is an opportunity to sample university-level academics at a first-rate institution, gain valuable insight into the admissions process, and discover how the United States Naval Academy will help you achieve your goals.

You will have the opportunity to attend classes, participate in sporting activities, lodge in the midshipmen dormitory and tour the excellent facilities at USNA. There is no cost for this program, but you are responsible for travel to and from USNA. Parents are invited, but their attendance is not mandatory. Parents are welcome to attend the opening remarks on Thursday and the parent focused events on Friday. Parents and family members are required to arrange their own lodging in Annapolis; only candidate visit weekend attendees will be provided rooms on the Naval Academy campus.

The candidate visit weekend will run from 5:30 p.m. Thursday to 9:00 a.m. Saturday, on the following dates:

March 30th - April 1st
April 20th - 22nd

My son received an LOA, pending medical qualification. He's never visited the Academy before. I called admissions a few weeks ago and they added him to the Candidate Visit that starts this Thursday. They also have another one at the end of April.
