Appointee Kit Q&A

The cadets I talked to at the Appointee day kind of shrugged and said most people don't really use them. I will probably get a cheap pair just to have in case, but if you want to save money, you're probably good without them.

On another note, I seem to get the feel that during BCT we will have about three and half thousand different worries, and money/finance will be right there toward the bottom. Considering that you are about to get a $400,000 education without any payment (with an additional salary!) there will probably be a few of us wishing we had spent the extra $20 for better undershirts or nicer boots or whatever it is. So, you might keep that in mind while preparing for BCT.
Def spend the money on good boots and running shoes if you can. You will spend the summer on your feet and your feet will thank you. I know this summer will be different but in the past the molded cleats were used for intermurals day and not really needed. It’s just one more thing to carry on IDay so lots of cadets leave them at home.

From what I’ve heard we just use the paper copy to fill out an electronic version once at USAFA so you can just leave them blank.
Having been through the security clearance joy multiple times, the paper you are filling out is for your reference only. You can use it when you get on the computer to input all your data. There is a limited window to get everything in. And with the bulk input of thousands of students, they want the entry to be as efficient as possible.

With that said, fill out the form as thoroughly as possible. If a section is not applicable to you, put NA in the first block and skip to the next question. This information is strictly for you to reference when you were sitting in front of the computer.

Two things, I got an email from everfi with instructions for the online dignity courses this morning, and I also heard back from admissions who said the appointee kit is due June 1st.
My ds also got an email from Everfi today

Do you have to take all parts of the math placement test at the same time? Or can they be spread out across multiple days?

Is there a section on the appointee kit about sponsor families? My aunt lives in Parker, CO and I was going to see if she could be my sponsor family. My sponsor family section disappeared.

The portal has changed since my DS was appointed, but there (at least) used to be a question for the cadet to request someone specific to be their sponsor. I assume that is still there in some fashion, but it's not the most important thing to affect this setup. For this to work, your aunt in Parker will need to become a sponsor/sponsor family. Please direct her here to apply-- on the application, she can request you as a "sponsee"--she will then have to do training and will need to get a sponsor pass to allow her on base after hours, etc. https://www.usafa.edu/cadet-life/cadet-support-services/cadet-sponsor-program/

I accepted Offer yesterday but have not seen Appt Kit on portal.

It took 2-3 days to update. The big thing to start is the declaration of COVID status. If you have taken shots, then enter dates, upload the card, and wait for the full appointee kit. If no shots, indicate you will get them and it should open.

Hi, do you guys know if appointee needs TB (Tuberculosis) test?
USMA requires it but I do not see it in USAFA booklet or kit.
Thanks!

For the USAFA, the immunization requirements are on pages 21 and 22.
Highly recommend to start this as early as possible. Even if you are fully vaccinated….. you aren’t! There are repeat shots.
Will need a polio vaccine given between January and June 2022 along with titers for MMR. If the titer comes back low then a booster is needed along with a follow up titer.

They updated MMR on website. No titer if two dose recorded. Finding polio in my area has turned into a pain though.
