Insider- are there specific days of the week that the portal is updated with offer of appointments? For example, if the appointment board decides on a Wednesday then portal is usually updated on the next Thursday, Friday or Saturday or could it really occur any day of week?
The timing varies depending on the time of year and the number of appointments released. It takes time for USAFA to notify the congressional offices, so if there are a lot of appointments at one time then the delay is longer to give our congressional liaisons the opportunity to do their jobs. In short there isn't any "fixed" day.

Is anyone else having trouble registering for MiCare? When I go to add a provider, "MiCare In Processing Provider, Cadet" doesn't turn up with any search results. I did find USAFA Case Management though.

Last year DD had to enter a specific zip code for the Academy, I think, for this to work. Read any "fine print" about registering. Insider might be able to help answer this.

I've forwarded the issue to the Cadet Clinic. I will post any clarification I get here and see about updating the instructions in the Appointee Kit.

*Most* appointees will know by next week. There will be a few more offers after that point, and there will be offers made to the USAFA Prep School and for the Falcon Foundation.

Insider- Thank you once again for your factual & timely information. So proud and happy to announce that my DS called me from school about an hour ago telling me he received a call from an unknown number during his Econ. class. (He talked to all his teachers a while ago, explaining that he was hoping to receive a call regarding his appointment(s) to the SA. ) When the call came today his Econ teacher gladly told him to take it. It was our Senator calling to inform & congratulate him on his appointment to the US Air Force Academy and letting him know that his portal should be updated sometime within the next week. The Senator then spent several minutes talking with him about triathlons since one of my DS's essays talked about competing in triathlons and our senator told DS he competes in them as well. Happy day!!

When will those that didn't get appointed be notified , I reached out to someone I know at the Academy, they took my son's name and then a hour later replied everyone would be notified of their status Mid April (based on what I'm reading here that is not the case ), so I'm confused and it has led me to believe my DS will not be getting an appointment ( is that when denials would be sent out?)
USAFA has completed the regular selections process. That means that most of the available appointments have been offered -- expect portals to update in the next day or so. For the next month USAFA will be back-filling some congressional vacancies and will be making additional prep school and Falcon Foundation offers (so there will be activity until the middle of April). After that there may be an odd offer or two, but it will be rare.
Non-select letters are generally sent after the majority of prep school and Falcon Foundation offers are complete. They are usually sent in mid-to-late April (but the timing varies).

Thanks Insider..... since our congressman did not run for reelection, it's been a mystery waiting and wondering if my DS will receive a call/appointment. His Senator nom was already used by another candidate. Your posts have been very informative and are keeping the worry wrinkles and gray hair to a minimum. Hopefully just another 24-48 more hours......

Thanks for the inside info. No appointments from our area that we know of. Trying to stay strong and positive but it doesn't look good for my DS.
