Appointee Kits -- June 15th Deadline

Mine reply was a question, not a statement of fact. I'm still trying to get the definitive structure for marking.

Are others 'Airmanship' part of the Appointee Kit still not Processsed by the AFA? Last one for my DS, other than 'To Bring'. He wants to get the 'Ok to Travel' link live before Graduation Friday and then heading off to Senior Week Saturday!

It's unlikely the "To Bring" list and Authorization to Travel will go live before squadron assignments are made (which will be no earlier than June 12) as both of those forms will need that information. As far as his authorization, all he needs to do is submit the forms (USAFA's processing is independent). It sounds as if he's done everything he can for at least the next 10 days or so...

Insider,

Not long after DD accepted her appointment the O-28 showed up in her portal since she will not yet be 18 on I-day. She and I signed it and it was returned. After several weeks it showed up in her portal as received and processed. Tonight that status changed and it appears it needs to be resigned and resent. Any idea why? Thanks!

Probably a glitch in the processing. Can you send me your DD's name in a PM? I will check on it.

Actually the issue should be resolved now -- no need to send your DD's name unless her portal still shows the form is not received.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention...

Hello there! I received an email today regarding the medical papers from our appointee kit that need to be brought on I Day. Does anyone know what the TSWF Encounter Worksheet is?

It is the Worksheet also in the 'Airmanship...' piece of your Admissions portal. Its toward the back, almost the last page. Most of that email was from the Airmanship print-out and a little confusing as it appeared to be something all should have without saying where and how they should have had it already.

Oh ok I found it. Thanks for the help!

If and when a Passport is needed that is handled while at the Academy or beyond, is that correct? A Basic Cadet is not required to Report-in with one, isn't that true? Thank you...

True. A Basic is not required to bring a passport on I-Day.

Proof of US citizenship is required. A passport can fill that requirement, but for the vast majority of appointees all that is required is their birth certificates.

My airmanship form hasn't been processed yet so I am unable to access my to bring check list. I put that in a few weeks ago and emailed my admissions counselor but haven't received any response on the issue

The Airmanship forms process quickly once submitted. Everyone as of now who has "submitted" the Airmanship form (basically just certifying that they have printed them out and completed them) has their form marked as "processed", so I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to in your post.

The "To Bring" check list is not available for anyone yet (it will become available later this week when squadron assignments are made). All forms above the the "To Bring" list must be complete before your squadron assignment will be posted.

If you want me to check the status of your forms, send me a PM.

Actually I'm sure how many Airmanship-Forms have processed. I've been saying for almost 2 weeks that the Form was done by DS the day it came out, and Submitted, but the Portal has only said its been Accepted but not Processed. As you say, it was only a Print and Submit, not sure why its taking almost 2 weeks for the Portal to say its Processed. DS has been up to date on all needs, he is hoping this doesn't hold up his Ok to Travel plans as he's coming out quite a bit early for the altitude and visit extended family. Thx

I've looked into this and discovered there was a display issue on some of the appointees' portals that prevented the form from showing processed (even though they all have been). If you check now I think you'll find the issue has been corrected.

I remember receiving an email after accepting my appointment that had a link to the official Facebook page of the USAFA Class of 2018. I actually didn't have a Facebook account at the time, but now that I do, I was hoping to join the group. Can you provide me with the link? I cannot find the email that was originally sent to me.

Just search "usafa class of 2018" on Facebook. You have to ask to join because it is a closed group. There will be two with "(official)" but the one with I think 600 members is the one the academy itself created.

To-Bring Checklist is now available

The final To-Bring checklist is now active for all appointees who have completed all their other Appointee Kit actions.

The list is "customized" to each appointee and supersedes any other lists or guidance you may have found in the Instructions to Appointees, by email, or on other websites.
