Appointee Tours

How's the movie?
It is pretty good. Covers the first year in great detail. I wanted my DS to get as much info on what he is committing to as possible. I think it helped. He will make his decision after the tour.

Iowa 73,
how long is the video? i am interested in getting a copy but want to see if there is enough content to justify it.
BTW, thanks for the email with the link, we are booked for the 17th.

It is 105 minutes. I thought it was worth buying. Glad you were able to get a tour slot.

Definitely worth it. My DH really enjoyed watching it since it brought back a lot of memories.

My favorite line in the video was of a basic during BCT talking about the cadre: "They're craaaazy!"

The video takes you through BCT, Acceptance, Recognition, etc. and even talks about Ring Dance and Graduation. Great overview. Oh - I don't get any kickbacks for this review!

I am attending the Appointee Tour this Friday, April 3. I know from the email that dress is business casual. Can anyone advise me on weather appropriate business casual clothing? Thanks!

So it'll be pretty warm here that day, so a nice, airy blouse with some light pants....I think even fancy-ish capris would be acceptable!
Have fun!

Flats, slacks, hair up, conservative blouse, water bottle. Weather is reported to be rainy in the 40's for Friday, so footwear choice important. BTW: DD will escort a group that day, approx. 70 people, (Parents now go on the tour with appointee.) See if you can pick her out; NY accent & voted most liberal in the squad! :frown:

Lol thanks Wishful! Lol sorry I kind of assumed the nice weather would hold out until Friday. Being from CO, I really should know better. Our weather is so finicky!

Have fun guys! I wish the weather was going to be better! It's so weird, it's beautiful up until Thursday, then Thursday and Friday are supposed to be kinda yucky, and then Saturday it's beautiful again! Kind of ironic.

Back in the day, there was Orientation, and for Fencersfamily, it was our first trip to the Rampart Range. Make sure you take some time to see a few sights around town: Garden of the Gods, maybe the Rodeo Hall of Fame if that's your cup of whoop-a$$. :)

Since we had not been there before, it was good that we spent a few days in CO, and could envision the dorms, the campus, the area, for BCT and other times when communication was, um, slower.

Besides I'm guessing it might be a good idea to get a feel for what kind of recreation is available for cadets in the Springs.
